The AOG Leader Mentor Network connects participants in the Autistic Leaders Program with individuals who have experience, expertise, and insight they may find helpful on their leadership journey.
Some leaders need support starting a nonprofit. Some want to build a business. Some are exploring advocacy, public speaking, creative work, employment, community organizing, or other leadership paths.
While AOG provides general leadership mentoring and support, there are times when a leader may benefit from more specialized guidance.
Who Can Become a Leader Mentor?
Leader Mentors may include people with many different kinds of experience, including:
- Business owners
- Independent contractors
- Consultants
- Coaches
- Advocates
- Community leaders
- Professionals
- Creators
- Educators
- Subject matter experts
- Experienced peers
Leader Mentors may be neurodivergent or neurotypical, though experience working with neurodivergent people is encouraged.
How It Works
- Leader Mentors share their information.
Mentors tell AOG about their experience, areas of expertise, referral preferences, and whether they offer volunteer, discounted, or paid services. - AOG may suggest a possible connection.
When a leader could benefit from specialized support, AOG may suggest one or more Leader Mentors who appear to be a good fit. - The leader decides whether to connect.
Leaders are free to decide whether a suggested mentor feels right for them. - The mentor decides whether to accept the referral.
There is no obligation for either person to continue beyond an initial conversation.
