One of the things we hear most often at Autism On the Go is that people want more opportunities to connect with others in a relaxed, low-pressure environment. While our online groups provide important spaces to build community, sometimes it’s nice to get out into the world together and simply enjoy each other’s company.
That’s exactly what this upcoming outing on Sunday, June 21st at 2PM is all about.
Whether you’re interested in playing a round of mini golf at Columbia SportsPark, chatting over coffee, or simply spending time alongside fellow Autistic and neurodivergent community members, this event offers a welcoming space to connect at your own pace.
Mini golf gives us a chance to laugh, explore, and enjoy a shared activity without the social demands that can sometimes come with traditional gatherings. There is no expectation to be competitive or skilled—just come as you are and have fun.
Afterward, those who would like to continue socializing can join the group at Mad City Coffee. Coffee shops can provide a comfortable setting for conversation, special interests, getting to know new people, or simply relaxing in the company of others.
Like all AOG events, participation is flexible. Some people may talk a lot, others may talk a little. Some may focus on the activity, while others enjoy observing and taking things in. All approaches are welcome.
Our goal is not to create pressure to socialize. Our goal is to create opportunities for authentic connection, shared experiences, and community belonging.
