AOG and the Future of Autistic Leadership (Reimagining Supports)

Autistic Leadership

This presentation introduces Autism On the Go (AOG), why Autistic leadership matters, and how we can shift culture by reimagining what “support” is and who deserves it.

We challenge the idea that only some people deserve compassion, and frame support/services as infrastructure rather than charity—moving away from gatekeeping by diagnosis and scarcity-based eligibility.

We compare an “old model” (hierarchy of disability, fear-based protection, access only through diagnosis) with a “new model” (spectrum of humanity, autonomy-based mindset, access by self-identified need, eligibility by default).

Participants leave with concrete reflection questions and a call to action: identify the spaces in your life that are not disability/Autistic-led, and take steps to shift power, expectations, and access so people can lead themselves—with support.
