This training prepares peer moderators/facilitators to steward safe, supportive spaces using AOG’s AAR Framework: Action, Assistance, Reflection. Moderators learn active presence and listening, how to offer support without taking over, and how to use reflective prompting to guide with curiosity.
We cover bias awareness, feedback and continued learning, and facilitator burnout prevention.
The training also includes boundaries of the non-clinical role, crisis/safety guidance (including when to intervene and how to respond), and clear expectations about supports vs. substitutes.
Finally, we build facilitator skill with practical group norms and real scenarios (redirecting, call-ins/call-outs, sensory challenges, escalation, late sharers, and accessibility-centered inclusion).
